HalaLyzeD is a consumer information service, currently in development, that helps Muslim travellers verify the halal status of products in countries where halal is not the default. As part of building our product database, we contact manufacturers with factual questions about specific products. This notice explains that practice and how we handle information.

Why we contact manufacturers

We may write to a manufacturer to ask factual questions about a specific product — for example, whether it contains animal-derived ingredients, alcohol used as an ingredient or in production, or fats other than vegetable oil. These are factual inquiries about product composition. They are not requests for certification, and they are not marketing.

How we use replies

• Replies are recorded verbatim and shown with the date received. We do not paraphrase, edit, or invent claims.
• Any information shown to consumers is attributed to the manufacturer by name, so a consumer can see who made the statement and verify it independently.
• A manufacturer's reply represents the manufacturer's own statement — HalaLyzeD does not issue halal certification.

Opting out

To ask not to be contacted, email halal-info@halalyze.com. We honour opt-out requests within 24 hours and keep a suppression record so we do not contact you again.

What data we keep

• We keep the business contact used for an inquiry (company name, a role or department, and a business email address) and the correspondence itself.
• We do not collect or retain personal data beyond what is needed to conduct and follow up on a factual inquiry. We do not seek personal phone numbers or personal details of individual staff.
• Correspondence is retained while the related product information remains in use, so that any statement we display can be traced back to its dated source.
